I just had a good idea. Why not create a special page for people who are in their first visit/not logged in? I have always felt the main page to be too loaded. The "shades of grey" aesthetic makes it hard to intuitively feel what's the most general and what's the most specific, making you have to read and understand and think. But maybe with a little clarification, like redirecting to the FAQ or maybe giving an abstract of the page, things could work out.

Also? Some themes would come in handy. Would you support building themes for users to choose, Boss?

That's already done for quite some time. I don't know why you haven't seen it (maybe just forgot?). Try to clear the cookies, or one cookie called "welcome_info_hide", if you wish (or just use another browser).

Sure I would support it. The thing is it's a lot of work, and I don't think custom themes are what the site needs at the moment.
