I've often wondered: Are there any women on this forum at all? The names I've come across here are all either decidedly male, or are gender neutral user names. I know that names on the internet aren't necessarily real names, but I can't recall a single time I've seen a woman's name or any female gender-identifying statements, even in debates on abortion. It's sort of odd to discuss feminism or abortion without any women weighing in on the subject, don't you think? Assuming I'm right, that is.

Should abortion be legal? I can see 3 potentially-female usernames (9 opinions at the moment). But you're right, OpiWiki users are mostly men. We haven't done any gender targeting yet, so it seems OpiWiki is simply more appealing to men. Why do you think OpiWiki is more appealing to men? would be a nice topic. At the moment, I think it's similar to Why do you think politics is more appealing to men?, which is a topic I just created.

I don't know how other people found themselves on this site, but I was invited by someone on another forum. That someone had a male name if I recall correctly, and on that site I was using the same name I'm using here, along with an avatar that (more or less) looks like me (a guy). How do people usually find this forum? I've never seen advertising for it.

Thank you for pointing out the women replying to the abortion topic. It really isn't a discussion without them, is it?

Usually via search engines and sometimes via private invitation, like you did. When we invite people directly, we obviously don't care about their gender. Thanks for contributing!
